This 1964 International Harvester is equipped with the original 304ci International V8 an 4-speed manual. The truck was purchased from the second owner who owned the truck from 1983 until 2017. The truck was restored in 1990, which included a repaint in Colorado Red. A hand-written maintenance log is included, which reportedly shows their full ownership from 1983 to early 2017. The most recent services include new tires, a brake service, new king pins, an alignment, boiled and cleaned fuel tank, and a full tune-up. This car is sold out of a private collection in Belgium and comes with Belgian registration.
The previous owner’s handwritten log shows that they drove the truck regularly from 1983 through 1990, and then used the truck sparingly until 1997. A repaint in Colorado Red was undertaken in 1990, and the truck is said to retain correct trim, and working roof-mounted spotlight. The selling dealer replaced all five tires in preparation for sale in May with new 30×9.5×15″ tires.
The pickup box is single-walled, and shows limited evidence of use. The previous owner used a plywood floor with a rubber mat as well as stainless steel upper bed rails to protect the bed, though these items have since been removed.
Some blistering is apparent at the bottom of the fenders and around the roof gutters, both of which are has detailed in the gallery. The rain gutters also have lifting paint.
The cabin retains a standard IH instrumentation layout, steering wheel, and interior controls. A small map light has been added to a panel in the headliner, and an aftermarket intermittent wiper control is mounted below the dash. The odometer shows 48k miles, though the true mileage is unknown.
The 304ci IHC V8 is said to be original to the truck, and is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission with a low “granny” first gear. Before the selling dealer acquired the truck in early 2017, the previous owner performed a brake service, fitted new kingpins, and boiled out the fuel tank. The selling dealer performed a general tuneup, adjusted the throttle linkage and performed an alignment.
From 1983 through the end of their ownership, the previous owner kept a handwritten mileage and maintenance log. The log has been retained and is included with the sale, with a selection of pages included in the gallery.
The seller has provided numerous photos of the truck’s underside, including closeups of the cab corners, lower inner fenders and bodywork.
