Bodywork included installation of new quarter, roof, floor, and taillight filler panels along with a set of used doors and a fresh core support. Sheet metal was repainted in deep metallic blue under white and electric blue racing stripes, and sealed under a clear coat. The finish is said to present well and is shown up close below along with occasional flaws, including an outward ding in the left quarter panel. The ‘Brystang’ sticker on the back can be easily removed.
Black and polished 17″ wheels are modernized versions with a period style and wear Falken rubber with most of its tread remaining. Badging and brightwork appear to have been refreshed throughout, including an updated grille up front. Glass is said to be largely original and wears some scratches as pointed out in the photos below.
The interior was reupholstered in factory-style materials including black vinyl seats, fresh carpeting, and a new-looking headliner. Lap belts are equipped at all four seats. The wood-look gauge panel houses factory instruments including a 5-digit odometer which shows just under 62k, though total mileage is unknown. A modern Kenwood stereo is linked to large speakers in the kick panels and rear parcel shelf.
A stock 289ci V8 was built with stock components and paired with a rebuilt C4 automatic. Induction is through a 4-barrel 500cfm Edelbrock carburetor drawing from a new tank through fresh lines. The exhaust system was redone and features an X-pipe, remote electric cutouts from Quick Time Performance, and chrome Dynomax mufflers. Additional updates include a high-voltage ignition and large aluminum radiator.
Power is sent rearward to an 8-inch differential that was rebuilt. A Borgeson integral power steering setup was installed and brakes were converted to power-assisted discs at all four wheels. New brake lines and parking brake cables were fitted throughout. Suspension updates include a large sway bar, KYB shocks, fresh bushings, and new plated fasteners.
Underbody photos show the general condition of the freshly undercoated floors, chassis rails, and inner wheel wells. The small oil and coolant leaks visible in the photos below have since been remedied with a new heater hose and tightening of the oil filter, with no remaining leaks present according to the seller. Approximately 15.000 miles have been driven since completion of the work of which 5.000 done by the last owner.
