This 1967 Porsche 912 Coupe remained with the original owner in Redwood City, California until she sold it to the second owner in Saratoga Springs, New York in 1994. The car moved to North Carolina in 2007 with the third owner, who is said to have performed a refurbishment that included a repaint and replacing the battery box. It was acquired out of Florida in 2012 by the fourth owner who sold it to the selling dealer in Spain. The numbers-matching 1600cc flat-four was rebuilt in 1984 and is mated to a 5-speed manual transaxle. A recent service included an oil change and fresh fluids according to the seller, who is now offering this 912 in Spain with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a set of Solex carburetors, a spare set of factory wheels, records from the original owner, and Spanish registration.
The car was finished in Polo Red (6602) from the factory and was reportedly repainted by the third owner. A small crease is apparent on the lower part of the passenger’s door, which the fourth owner caused while moving cars in his garage. The paint is reportedly intact around the crease.
A set of 15″ Fuchs wheels with Bridgestone Potenza tires are currently fitted. A set of factory steel wheels are included, though the included set is not original to the car. Photos of the included wheels are attached in the gallery. The front bumper overriders noted on the Certificate of Authenticity have been removed.
The interior is upholstered in black leatherette, and red/black Coco mats are fitted front and rear. The stock radio has been replaced with a vintage-style head unit and a CD changer, and aftermarket speakers are fitted in the door panels. 26k miles are shown on the odometer, which is believed to have rolled over once.
A rebuild of the original 1600cc flat-four was commissioned in 1984 by the original owner. The engine is currently fitted with Weber carburetors, though a set of Solex items are included. The selling dealer serviced the car and changed the oil and fluids prior to the sale.
Several photos of the underside have been provided, and according to the seller the battery box was replaced by the third owner. This example is equipped with a 901 5-speed manual transaxle.
Service records are available from new until the first owner sold the car in 1994. Documents noted by the seller include a receipt for the engine rebuild in 1984, a PPI from the second owner’s purchase in 1994, and records for the third owner’s refurbishment.
