This 1969 Dodge Dart convertible is a GT model that is equipped with a 318ci V8 and a 3-speed automatic transmission as well as optional power front disc brakes, bucket seats, center console, and air conditioning. The car spent much of its life in Washington State before its recent acquisition by the selling dealer. Engine detailing has since been carried out along with a tune-up and front brake work as described below. The car is offered with period literature, a factory build sheet, an Oregon title and European import papers stating all import duties are paid. German registration can be provided by the seller.
The car was repainted at some point in the past. Some waviness is present down the sides on close inspection and evidence of filler is shown in several areas including the lower rear quarters, where bubbling is also noted. Door jambs, sills, and rockers are shown in a number of photos below.
Brightwork, trim and hardware are detailed close up along with occasional dings and blemishes. Mopar Rallye wheels remain clean and wear deep chrome beauty rings as well as older staggered-width 14″ BFGoodrich Radial T/As.
The powered convertible top has a glass window and is said to operate as it should. A cover is also included for use when the top is stowed. Exterior lighting is shown to work including the fender-mounted turn indicators. The factory-style liner is lifted to show the condition of the rear cargo area, which is home to an optional trunk light as well as a full-size spare and factory jack.
The metallic blue interior features optional front bucket seats and a center console with woodgrain trim and a floor shifter for the 3-speed automatic. Rubber seals are said to be in good condition, while window felts are due for replacement. Original-style loop carpeting is showing its age. The factory AM radio remains mounted in the dash, while aftermarket speakers have been cut into both door panels.
Stock instruments include a horizontal speedo and a 5-digit odometer showing just under 72k miles. Factory under-dash “Airtemp” air conditioning appears to have been retrofitted with R134a refrigerant per the seller, but is currently inoperative. All dash and courtesy lights are functional, though the headlight switch can be a bit finicky according to the seller. Other working accessories include the heater, defroster, windshield wipers, and optional remote mirror.
Power is from a replacement 318ci V8, which is built on a 1977 block and was recently repainted in its correct colors by the seller. New valve cover and oil filter housing gaskets were installed in addition to a tune-up, further underhood detailing, and a change of differential oil. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission that is said to operate well.
Underbody photos detail the condition of the suspension, floors, rockers, frame rails, and torque boxes, all of which are said to remain in good condtion. Rust is noted in the trunk drop-offs and spare tire well. Stopping power is reportedly good thanks to recently flushed brakes, which include factory powered front discs with new rubber hoses.
The sale includes owner’s manuals and other period literature as well as a factory build sheet listing original equipment and options. Matching VINS are present on the dash and radiator support, while the chassis tag is missing from the driver-side inner fender.
