This 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL is equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission and was sold new in San Diego, California. Finished in Silver Gray over a black interior, the car reportedly remained with its first owner for 30 years. The seller acquired this example from its third owner in November 2017, and the 2.8-liter inline-six was replaced in 1999 by Metric Motors of Canoga Park, California. The W113 is now being offered with a matching Pagota hardtop and Italian registration.
The seller notes a repaint in the original Silver Gray (180G) at some point, with the current finish showing a high gloss. Minor paint bubbling is noted under the rear bumper, and modifications to the exterior include a set of Euro headlights. The 14″ wheels wear hubcaps Michelin MXV tires on all four corners.
