This 1969 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 had a two-year body-off restoration to stock specification that was completed in 2016 and is powered by a 3.9L inline-six backed by a 3-speed manual transmission. It has been driven just 1.500 miles since restoration. Recent additions include rerouting some engine wiring, installing seat belts and sun visors, aligning the front end, and an overall safety check. Purchased in the US in 2018, this car was imported to Spain where it resided in a private collection and was not registered. This FJ40 is now being offered with a clean California title a photo journal documenting the restoration and European import papers stating all import duties are paid.
The new wheels and tires give this FJ40 a stock look, and the full-sized spare is correctly mounted on the rear door.
The cabin features new upholstery, trim, and switchgear throughout. The rear seating area can be viewed in the photo gallery below.
All features are said to be in good working order, and the odometer was reset when the restoration was completed. It currently displays 1,500 miles as highlighted in the photo gallery below. The 3-speed manual transmission and 4×4 transfer case were kept stock to the seller’s knowledge.
Under the hood is a correct 3.9-liter inline-six, which the seller believes is the original motor for this chassis. The engine bay is nicely detailed and presents as one would expect of a full restoration with just 1.500 miles since completion.
Additional undercarriage pictures are displayed in the photo gallery below.
The seller has also provided extensive pictures covering the restoration.
