For 1970 the Camaro was completely redesigned and virtually every part was new. A new, sleeker design was introduced which was very different than the competition. While 1970 is the first year of the Second Generation Camaro, it is also seen as the last of the high performance muscle cars due to emissions. This Camaro was built in Van Nuys & stayed its entire life in California and received an extensive refurbishment from the selling dealer.
On the outside the selling dealer kept most of the car the same. The car is repainted 10 years back and the paint is still in good condition. The Rally Wheels with big 275/60 Cooper Cobra tires in the back and 235/60 in the front the car has that typical tough ‘Muscle Car’ stance. The selling dealer installed a new rear bumper, headlight moldings and wipers. The trunk got a fresh coating of the original robust paint. The entire car is 100% rust free and has no filler or bondo.
On the inside almost everything has been replaced. The car received a new carpet, seats, door panels, dashboard, Dakota Digital gauges, door sills, shifter indicator, Retrosound Radio, air vents, courtesy light, pedal pads, emergency brake lever and much more.
The tired 350ci engine was completely rebuilt and turned into a peppy 383 stroker engine with new pistons, cam, crankshaft, Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock carburetor, water pump & headers. The transmission was also rebuilt during the same time. On top of that, a new radiator, power steering box and wiper motor were installed, making this mechanically a fresh car. All worn bushings of the suspension were replaced as well and almost the entire wiring has been redone. The brakes were checked and received new brake fluid.
