Description

This 1971 Fiat 500 Lusso was the recipient of €6k in mechanical and cosmetic refurbishing done in 2017. It remained with the original owner’s family until 2015, at which point the second owner acquired it and commissioned an exterior repaint in the original Ivory Beige color, performed an engine-out service, overhauled the brakes, installed a new set of Pirelli Cinturato tires, and more. As a Lusso model, the car features distinctive bumper guards, additional chrome trim, and an upgraded interior. The 499cc parallel-twin and four-speed manual gearbox remains original, and the car recently passed an annual road legal inspection without remarks. This 500L is now being offered with records since 2015, the original Pistoia license plates, and a clear Italian logbook and certificate of ownership.

The Lusso trim appears to have been retained, including the front and rear bumper guards, chrome-look drip rail covers, and wheel covers. During the 2015-2016 refurbishment, the exterior underwent a repaint in the original Ivory Beige (234). Newer Cinturato tires are worn on the steel wheels. A slight bend is present in the rear bumper.

The seller is unable to find evidence of prior repair work with the use of a paint meter and believes that the original sheet metal has been retained. Images of the paint meter readings can be seen in the gallery below.

The cabin is trimmed in black leatherette with matching carpets, a plastic center console, and dash cover. 62k kilometers are shown on the odometer.

The stamping number on the air-cooled 499cc twin corresponds to the production date and is believed be the original unit. During the 2015 refurbishment, the engine and transmission were removed, serviced accordingly, and resealed. The fuel tank was also removed, cleaned, and repainted at this time.

A brake service was reportedly performed along with the installation of new shocks, springs, rebuilt front hubs, and a front wheel alignment.
