This 1971 Volvo 1800E was purchased by the selling dealer earlier this year from the US. The body is finished in Gold Metallic over light brown upholstery and the interior has been updated with seats from a 1972 1800ES. Power comes from a fuel-injected 2.0L B20 inline-four paired with an M41 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The seller restored the fuel tank, updated the Bosch fuel injection system, and serviced the A/C system. Now showing approximately 134k miles, records from the recent work are included in the sale, and the car is offered with Dutch registration.
This example was finished in Gold Metallic (105) from the factory, and the current finish presents well with some paint chips visible on the leading edge of the hood and front panel. New front and rear emblems were installed.
The seller repaired the wiring for various exterior lights, and new Cooper CS5 Touring tires were mounted. The wheels are multi-piece Volvo 1800 items with an alloy center, aftermarket beauty rings, and Volvo center caps. A fifth matching spare with a Dunlop tire is located in the trunk.
The interior was trimmed in Light Brown (341-766) upholstery from new, although this example features seats from a 1972 Volvo 1800ES. The original seats have large tears present, but are included in the sale and pictured in the gallery. The rear view mirror is from a 240-series Volvo.
A newer carpet kit has been installed and has discoloration present in various areas. Aftermarket caps have been installed for the upper and lower dash and armrest, with a small crack present on the top of the dash. The auxiliary air valve was replaced with rebuilt unit, and the heater blower motor was replaced with a working unit. The air conditioning was repaired during the seller’s ownership and the lower dash heater vent hoses were replaced. The odometer shows slightly under 134k miles. The radio and clock are not working.
Power comes from a 2.0L B20 inline-four paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, and a compression test provided by the seller showed 155, 158, 160, and 145 psi across the four cylinders. Additional work completed includes a new battery, oil change, restored gas tank, new plugs, and a fuel injection system sorting. An aftermarket aluminum finned valve cover is present.
Multiple undercarriage photos have been provided by the seller detailing the condition of various suspension and chassis components. The lower control arm bushings were replaced.
