This 1972 Fiat 500F was originally sold new in Teramo, Italy and remained in Teramo with the original owner until 1988. It was then sold to Salerno to the second owner. The son of the second owner eventually inherited it in 2006 and commissioned a repaint in the original color and replacement of the original floor pan and over €7k has been spent on mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment since. The 499cc air-cooled twin was rebuilt and is coupled to a 4-speed manual transaxle. The interior has been redone in red and features a canvas sliding sunroof. This 500F is now being offered with records as well as a clear Italian Libretto and certificate of ownership.
The car was repainted in the original color around six years ago, and paint meter readings are shown in the gallery. During the restoration reproduction exterior chrome trim was installed, including the bumpers, license plate light, and side mirrors. New seals around have also been installed.
In preparation for the sale, the seller did a wheel alignment and installed a new set of wheels, including new hubcaps and new Pirelli tires. The soft top was completely restored with new fabric and an overhaul of the frame.
The interior has been restored with new carpeting, insulation and door panels. A restored steering wheel has also been installed, while new red seats are installed. 87k kilometers are shown on the odometer.
The 499cc air-cooled twin was rebuilt by the seller, the cooling shroud was refinished, and the zinc hardware was re-plated. The 4-speed manual gearbox restored with newly installed linkages. The fuel tank has been replaced.
