This 1973 Autobianchi Giardiniera Trasformabile is powered by a rebuilt 499cc inline-two, which is paired to a 4-speed manual gearbox. Though service records are limited to those acquired by the selling dealer, known ownership history is said to trace back to the original owner, who reportedly took delivery of the car in the Tuscan city of Prato. It was sold to the second owner ten years ago and was subsequently repainted in Coral Red (165). Within the past three months, the seller has spent nearly €5.000 on new upholstery, a new heater, new bumpers, a canvas roof and frame, brakes, shocks, tires, and a rebuild of the engine. The car is being sold with a clean Italian libretto and certificate of ownership.
A repaint was performed by a previous owner in the proper Coral Red (165), and the seller notes no signs of filler or accident repair. Images included in the gallery exhibit paint meter readings taken over various parts of the body. Delivered new with Autobianchi badging, the car was fitted with a Fiat badge on the front by the previous owner. New tires were mounted on the factory steel wheels by the seller.
The new Beige over Creme upholstery shows well in provided photos, with rubber floor mats and interior surfaces exhibiting minimal imperfections.
The minimal interior features a two-spoke steering wheel and a single instrument cluster housed in a body-colored dash. Interior features are said to be functioning well, and the odometer is believed to have rolled over once, indicating that the car has 102,740 kilometers
The 499cc inline-two is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission and was adapted to lie on its side while being accessible beneath a hinged floor. It was rebuilt by the seller and accompanied by new brakes, shocks, and alignment, with invoices for parts and labor totaling €5k. The has been driven a total of 30 km since.
The engine rebuild was accompanied by an inspection of the wiring loom, new battery and exhaust, and new zinc plating applied to the factory tin and bolts.
