This 1973 Volkswagen T2 Camper was refurbished in 2017 and then sold from the US to Germany. The body is finished in Brilliant Orange, and work included purchasing a 2.0-liter flat-four with upgraded heads and rebuilt dual carburetors. Prior to the engine being reinstalled, the sheet metal was refurbished and fitted with new engine to body seals along with a new battery tray. A clutch kit for the 4-speed manual gearbox was installed, along with an oil cooler and external oil filter. All the interior trim, seats, and upholstery were refurbished, along with a propane system, faucet, and sink. A deep-cycle battery was added along with the main battery to power the radio, refrigerator, and interior lights. The Volkswagen is now being offered with a heavy duty outdoor cover, tent, awning, a VW Bible, and German registration.
Per the seller, the Volkswagen was repainted by the previous owner in 2011 in the original Brilliant Orange (922651). New headlights were installed, along with a rear light assembly and a turn signal relay.

Up front, new rubber mats and seating uprights were installed along with a new shifter boot, parking brake, a steering wheel, sun visors, shift knob, dashboard cover, and a wooden table that clips to the dashboard. The windshield and gasket were replaced with OEM units, along with wiper arms and blades. According to the seller, the radio and heat operate as they should, although the speedometer and gas gauges are inaccurate. The odometer shows 68k miles.
The interior was refurbished with new cabinetry trim, custom curtains, interior lights and switches. According to the seller, the original refrigerator was refurbished, the propane tank was filled, the valves were rebuilt, and the system was tested for leaks. A new faucet and sink drain were installed and the rear facing bench seat/bed was reupholstered.
The 2.0-liter flat-four was purchased from The Bus Depot in Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania and included upgraded heads and rebuilt dual carburetors with new floats, needles, seats, and vacuum lines. Prior to being reinstalled, the sheet metal inside the bay was refurbished and new engine to body seals were added along with a clutch kit, a new oil cooler, and an external oil filter.
