This 1975 BMW 1502 was first registered in Genova, Italy in 1975, and stayed with its original owner until it was purchased by the seller in January 2017. The original owner used the car as a daily driver until 1982, then put it into dry storage and used it occasionally for car shows over the next 35 years. Since purchasing the car, the seller has had the original radiator rebuilt with additional rows for increased cooling capacity and has fiited the following new genuine BMW parts to include- oil filter, air filter, breather pipe from rocker cover to air box, alternator bushing, fan belt, rear bumper with cover caps. New Bosch wiper inserts were fitted to the original wiper arms, a set of new NGK spark plugs fitted, a replacement horn and the original VDO windshield washer pump was rebuilt using new VDO parts. Described as a stock example that is free of known issues this 1502 is sold with its Italian papes.
Stated by the seller, the paintwork on this 1502 is original, except for some small brushed-in touchups performed by the original owner. The seller has replaced the rear bumper and rear bumper cover caps, but the bodywork is said to be otherwise original. New Bosch wiper inserts were fitted to the original wiper arms. Close-up photos are provided to detail condition of the exterior window trim and glass which are said to be undamaged throughout with the door and boot seals in very good condition and its originals.

The cabin features blue upholstery, with cloth centers on the front seats and rear bench. No modifications are noted, and the stock instrumentation includes a 180km/h speedometer, fuel and temperature gauges, and a large analog clock in the position more commonly occupied by a tachometer. All of the instruments and interior lights are said to work correctly. The odometer shows 62k kilometers.
Photos are provided of the upper dash. This 1502 is not equipped with a radio, and the center stack is simply an open storage cubby.
Power comes from a 1573cc M10 inline-four, which was introduced in 1975 for the 1502 model and is rated at 75 horsepower and 118 lb-ft of torque. The seller had the original radiator rebuilt with additional rows for increased cooling capacity and performed a cooling system flush. During their ownership, the seller has also performed an oil service with a new filter and 20w-50 oil, and fitted a new air filter, breather pipe, alternator bushings, and NGK plugs. The seller states that the car drives as it should, and the transmission shifts correctly even when cold.
The engine number matches the chassis number; 4166489.
Photos are provided of the inner wheel wells are provided with the wheels removed, as well as photos of the underside of the car. The seller states that the paint in the inner wheel well is original. The seller states that the springs and suspension arms appear to be original, and the green metal brake lines are said to be factory items.
The original owner did not keep service records, and records are included for services performed during the seller’s time with the car. An English-language owner’s manual is included with the sale.
The original Italian ownership papers are included with the sale, with both the original owner’s information at left and from the transfer to the seller at right. A copy of the original registration booklet is included as well. The car recently passed an Italian inspection test.
