This 1975 Toyota Land Cruiser HJ45 was first sold in Spain and was used by the original owner for hauling potatoes, onions, and grapes from his estate to the market. The current owner has restored several HJ pickups and is the second owner of this example, which is powered by its factory 3.6 liter H diesel engine paired to a 4-speed manual transmission. A bare metal repaint was performed after rust repair in early 2017, and the truck was serviced with new fluids, filters, and brake master cylinder. The seller is representing the owner, who has a clean Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain title in his name.
The truck’s longbed and cabin were removed from the chassis and stripped to bare metal for rust repair and treatment in January 2017. The body was painted Alpine White and the chassis was treated for rust and repainted prior to the body work. The front bumper is capable of supporting a winch, and the original tailgate has been replaced with an aftermarket item.
Hydraulic drum brakes at all four corners provide stopping power, and 16″ black steel wheels wear Hankook tires.
Inside, freshly painted metal surfaces present well and the original doors, dash, knobs, badges, and seats are present. The passenger seat shows a six inch tear that runs along one of the seams. The original Toyota lap belts for the driver and passenger are still in place.
The overhead window wipers are also original to the truck and work as they should. All the lights and switches are functioning, though the fuel gauge is not working. The odometer indicates 54,768 kms and has rolled over once according to the owner (~96k miles).
The 3.6 liter inline-six H diesel engine is paired to an H41 4-speed manual transmission. The two-speed transfer case is said to be in working order, and the brake master cylinder was recently replaced by the current owner. The truck was serviced in January 2017 with all new fluids and filters, and is said to start and run well.
A large collection of undercarriage photos have been provided and are featured in the image gallery below. The seller reports that although the body has been treated for corrosion, some rust remains present under the bed, and in small areas on the chassis, leafs, shackles, and original exhaust.
The chassis #HJ45-002365 can be seen above on the truck’s frame and matches the data plate in the engine compartment. The seller can help facilitate shipping from Tenerife to Europe.
