This 1975 Triumph TR6 is finished in Pimento Red over a light tan interior and benefits from a restoration completed in 2017. Powered by 2.5-liter inline-six paired to a 4-speed manual gearbox, the engine was rebuilt less than 1250-miles ago using new pistons, rings, bearings, seals, a camshaft, lifters, push rods, oil pump, timing chain, water pump, freeze plugs, and more as detailed in the listing below. The suspension was refreshed, the brake system has been overhauled, and the interior includes all new carpets, door panels, seats covers with new foam padding, and a digital cassette player. The car was disassembled prior to being repainted in its original Pimento Red (72). A new front bumper was installed, along with new weather stripping and seals. The seller notes no evidence of rust, and the trunk reportedly remains solid with the spare tire, jack and tools in place. The front suspension was overhauled along with new differential mounts.
The convertible top has been replaced and the tonneau cover is said to remain in good condition. The 15″ steel wheels have been refurbished and 205/75 BF-Goodrich tires are fitted all around. New brake calipers, hoses, pads, and shoes have been fitted, and the brake and clutch master cylinders have been rebuilt.
The light tan interior has new foam inserts and seat covers, in addition to new door panels, door pulls, a crash pad, sun-visors, rear view mirror, and a dash top. The interior features are reportedly in working order including the gauges, horn, blower motor, and wipers. The stereo system was fitted with a digital cassette player and new speakers were installed and mounted under the dash. The dash surround remains in good condition.
The seller reports that both doors have their original Triplex glass windows, and the windshield has been replaced along with the windshield gasket.
The original 2.5-liter straight-six has been driven approximately 1500-miles since a complete rebuild. The cylinder head was machined and new valves, springs, guides, and rockers were installed, along with new pistons, rings, bearings, seals, a camshaft, lifters, push rods, an oil pump, timing chain, water pump, freeze plugs, and motor mounts.
The seller states the engine was rebuilt to achieve the early TR6 compression ratio of 8.6:1, the fuel pump was rebuilt, and new spark plugs and wires were installed. Receipts for the engine rebuild are shown in the gallery below.
The drivetrain includes a new clutch, pressure plate, release bearing, cross-shaft, bushings, and the flywheel was resurfaced. The transmission was rebuild using new synchronizers, gaskets, seals, mounts and a speedometer shaft seal. The rear axle has new mounts, a pinion seal, u-joints, and the rear-wheel bearing housings were rebuilt along with new springs.
