Description

This 1976 Fiat El Sabry 850 is one of just 80 examples built by Sanremo based coachbuilder GAMC BALDI. Based on an 850 Sport Coupe, it features a fiberglass body with a fixed windscreen, luggage compartment, removable top, and seating for four. This example has recently undergone over €8k in recent mechanical and cosmetic refurbishing work, which included rebuilding the 843cc water-cooled inline-four and four-speed manual gearbox, refinishing the Campagnolo wheels, installing a new radiator, shocks, and much more. It is reported to have previously been registered in Genova, near Portofino and stored indoors for much of its life. This El Sabry is now being offered in Italy with clean Italian papers, receipts from recent service, and a certificate of ownership.

Overall the red finish on the 41-year old fiberglass body presents with a patina. It has recently been wet sanded and polished. However, some bubbling, minor cracks, and spots of touch up are present. The bumpers, engine bay, engine cover, and luggage compartment have recently been repainted black, as original.

It comes fitted with an original set of Campagnolo alloy wheels, and the removable black soft top also remains original, with areas of prior repair and patching evident.

Much of the interior was carried over from the 850 when new, though it features a few custom elements, like a wood-rimmed Personal wheel and matching shift knob. 44k kilometers are shown on the odometer.

Recent work inside includes the installation of new interior panels, restuffing the black vinyl seats with replacement foam, and a new custom rubber floor covering. Sun-visors are not present in photos but will be re-installed before delivery.

The 843cc overhead-valve inline four was recently rebuilt and fitted with a reproduction Abarth silencer, new radiator, and water pump. It sends power to a four-speed manual gearbox, which was also recently rebuilt. The drivetrain was bench-tested prior to installation and the seller has performed around 50 kilometers of road testing.
