This 1980 Triumph TR7 coupe is purchased by the seller in 2014 and thoroughly restored in 2019. Work under current ownership included refinishing the body in original shade of white, refurbishing the interior, rebuilding the 2.0L inline-four with performance parts, overhauling the suspension and brakes, and replacing the tires. Equipment includes grey cloth upholstery with green stripes, dual SU carburetors, sporty exhaust components, 13″ Allycat wheels, and power-assisted front disc brakes. This TR7 is offered with Belgian registration.
The seller, who is a mechanic, restored the car mostly himself. He reports that the car was refinished its original white color with a black roof. Equipment includes pop-up headlights, fog lights and impact bumpers. A small rub is shown at the right-front corner of the bumpers. During the restoration some minor metal work was done to address rust.
Allycat 13″ alloy wheels with Triumph-branded center caps are mounted with newer tires. Brake and suspension refurbishments under current ownership are said to have included replacing brake booster, calipers, rotors, pads, rear wheel cylinders, shocks, front wheel bearings, ball joints, tie rod ends, and control arm and sway bar bushings. The front suspension is adjustable from the brand Spax.
The reupholstered cabin features bucket seats trimmed in grey cloth with Green stripes along with replacement door panels, seat belts, and carpets. Additional features include an AM/FM cassette stereo and a locking glove box. The wiring has been redone and the entire dash was refurbished.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 220-kmh speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 18.600 km and is believed to be rolled over once.
The 2.0-liter inline-four was rebuilt and balanced by the seller himself. Features of the engine are dual SU HS6 carburetors, an external electric water pump from Graig Davis, sharper camshaft for street use, electronic ignition, electric fuel pump and a spaghetti exhaust. Last year a new Powerlite High Torque starter was mounted.
