Description

This 1988 GMC Suburban 2500 is finished in two-tone blue over a blue vinyl interior and spent time in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Florida before being recently acquired by the selling dealer from its third owner. Power comes from a 454ci V8 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission, and work completed in the last year reportedly included installing FiTech programmable fuel injection and replacing the timing chain, water pump, alternator, shocks, brake pads, and more as described below. This seventh-generation Suburban shows 96k miles and is offered with factory manuals, a clean Carfax, and Italian Registration.

The truck came finished in two-tone Aspen Blue over Midnight Blue from the factory and was reportedly repainted in 2015 to correct clearcoat failure. Noted blemishes include small runs and fisheyes in the paint, and the seller also describes evidence of prior bodywork along the passenger side rear tailgate and door. No accidents or other damage are indicated on the Carfax report.

Factory 16″ steel wheels wear matching GMC-branded hubcaps and are fitted with Definity Dakota H/T tires. The brake pads and shocks are said to have been replaced in the last year. A receiver hitch is mounted out back, and a full-size spare is included in the sale.

Blue vinyl seats are accompanied by a color-matched dash, door panels, and carpets. The front captains chairs and split center bench seat provide seating for five, and amenities include air conditioning, power door locks, and a Pyle stereo unit.

Instrumentation includes an 85-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and a digital odometer that indicates 96k miles. The seller notes that the coolant temperature gauge is inoperable and the rear A/C vents emit a noise when operating.

The 454ci V8 has been fitted with a FiTech EFI conversion and a Weiand Street Warrior intake manifold under previous ownership. Service in 2019 is said to have included a new timing chain and gear set, water pump, alternator, harmonic balancer, ignition components, valve covers, and gaskets.  An alignment was performed in preparation for the sale according to the seller.

A three-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission directs power to the rear wheels. Additional photos in the gallery highlight the condition of the frame, underbody, and exhaust system.

The March 2020 Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Florida between its first entry in 1994 and its most recent update in August 2019.
