This 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL was sold new in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to Colorado in 1999. In 2014 the car was sold to Florida. Approximately 500 miles have been added since, and the car has been serviced with a new timing chain, guides, tensioner, motor mounts, subframe mounts, brake rotors and pads, tires, and more within the last two years. The selling dealer bought the car in Florida in November 2023 and shipped the car to Holland. The factory hardtop, spare wheel, original manuals, metal Certicard, build sheet, service booklet, and service records come with the car, which is being sold with a clean Carfax and a clean Florida title and European import papers stating all import duties were paid.

The Black paint (Schwarz, 040) features tan pinstripes and was treated with paint protection (524) from the factory. The seller reports that the car is stored in a climate controlled setting with the rest of his collection and not in his garage at home. The original hardtop is included as shown in the gallery.

H4 headlights and amber fog light lenses have been added, though the original sealed beam headlights and clear lenses are included in the sale and are pictured in the gallery below. The brake rotors and pads were replaced in January 2015 and the brake fluid was flushed. The stock 15″ wheels are shod in Primewell Valera Touring tires that have a DOT code from 2014.

The cabin features Java leather upholstery (274) and burl wood trim. The optional equipment on the data plate and build sheet includes the following items:

The original Becker cassette radio remains in place, and the air conditioning is said to work well. All of the VDO gauges, lights, power accessories, and clock are said to function properly, and 98,485 miles are shown on the odometer. The cruise control is currently not operating, and the trunk lock is not opening due to an issue with the key cylinder.

The factory 5.6-liter V8 is paired to a 4-speed 4G-Tronic automatic transmission and produced 227 hp and 287 lb-ft of torque when new. Stamps in the service booklet and service records on the Carfax show that work performed in June 2013 included a differential service, power steering service, new thermostat, chassis lube, and oil/filter change. The differential fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, and brake fluid were also flushed and changed at that time. In January 2015, the seller had the timing chain, guides, tensioner, valve cover gaskets, and hood insulation replaced, and the coolant system was flushed. More recent work consisted of a tune-up, new motor mounts, subframe mounts, O2 sensor, and an oil/filter change in preparation for sale. The seller grew up on his father’s Mercedes-Benz dealership in New York, and is a longtime enthusiast who does most of the maintenance to this R107 and his four other Mercedes cars himself.

An accident-free Carfax confirms previous Georgia and Colorado ownership and verifies mileage with 11 odometer readings from January 1993 to June 2013. The original owner’s manuals, metal Certicard (Protect-o-plate), build sheet, and first aid kit are included along with the original service booklet that shows maintenance from 1988 to 2013. Service records from the previous owner also come with the car.
