This 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is a Canadian-market example that shows 51k kilometers. Finished in Garnet Red over Palomino leather, it is powered by a 5.6L V8 mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. It was recently acquired by the selling dealer from its second owner of 19 years and was being sold due to the seller’s loss of storage for the vehicle. A major A/C service was completed in 2014 and the oil was changed by the prior owner this spring. This R107 is being offered for sale with a matching hardtop, cover, and stand, some service records, nine quarts of oil, a clean Carproof report, a clean Ontario title and EU import papers.
The seller states that the car retains its original body panels and Garnet Red finish. US-market bumpers and lighting are retained on this final year R107. Five-lug 15” factory alloys wear Michelin MXV4 rubber.
A black canvas top is fitted, and a small rip in the plastic rear window is shown in the gallery. A matching hardtop with a cover and stand are included in the sale and are also pictured in the gallery.
The Palomino leather seats present well, with minor creasing evident on the driver-side bolsters. A Becker Grand Prix AM/FM/Cassette unit is maintained, and the dashboard is free of cracks. Receipts from 2014 indicate a major air conditioning service. The odometer shows 51,694 kilometers.
The naturally-aspirated 5.6L V8 was rated at 227 horsepower when new. A number of receipts from minor servicing are included, and the previous owner is said to have personally performed regular oil changes.
A photo of the undercarriage is viewable above. Original manuals, toolkit, nine quarts of oil, and an original spare are included in the sale.
